About Pure Taqueria

Let me introduce you to Pure Taqueria, a laid-back Mexican restaurant tucked into the heart of Atlanta at 300 N Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, and honestly, it’s one of those spots that feels instantly familiar even on your first visit. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is relaxed and lively, the kind of place where conversation flows easily and the energy feels warm without being overwhelming. Pure Taqueria is built around bold flavors and comfort-forward Mexican food, so whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a long meal with friends, it fits the moment. I always like that you can choose how you enjoy it-dine-in when you want the full experience, outdoor seating when the weather cooperates, or takeaway and delivery when convenience matters. The menu keeps things approachable while still feeling thoughtful, mixing classic comfort food with lighter, healthy options and solid vegetarian choices, which makes it easy to please a group with different tastes. Drinks are a big part of the experience here, too, and the restaurant doesn’t hold back, offering beer, wine, and a cocktail lineup that pairs perfectly with small plates or late-night food. Happy-hour drinks bring extra buzz to the room, while spirits and well-crafted cocktails make it just as appealing for an evening hangout as it is for a casual afternoon stop. Even coffee has its place when you want to slow things down a bit. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot where the music, the pace, and the menu stay in sync, inviting you to linger a little longer, order another round, and sample something new without pressure or pretense. That balance is what makes Pure Taqueria feel approachable for first-timers while still rewarding regulars who appreciate consistent service, dependable flavors, and a setting that works just as well for casual lunches as spontaneous nights out.

This is by far the best Mexican food place in Atlanta. The location is easy to get to, the food is super affordable, and the taste of every dish is amazing. Make sure to get the queso con todo - their chips are SO good.

We enjoyed it all. Queso con Todo (if you like queso) is fantastic! It was devoured before I could think about taking a photo. The chicken tamales had good amount of chicken. My family ordered enchiladas and plantains. The Cazuela is a tasty bowl filled with grilled chicken, grilled veggies, pico de gallo, rice and beans topped with avocados. Chicken empanadas are my favorite.

Visited on National Margarita Day with my husband and was both surprised and happy that there was seating available. We got there a little after 9pm and we seated right away with menus. While they didn't have margarita day specials they did have a Dip & Sip special for Wednesdays and Thursdays. It's $39.99 for a regular or plus margarita pitcher and either queso or guac. Our server greeted us and we ordered the plus pitcher with guac and continued to look over the menu. We were brought waters and the guac came quickly after. The chips were housemade and had the right amount of crunch and salt. Guac needed a little extra salt and pepper, but overall really good. The plus margarita was perfection. I ordered the Veggie Burrito Ahogado while he ordered 2 Birria Tacos and 1 Carne Asada taco with rice and black beans. We continued talking and eating the chips and guac. Food came and we were ready to eat. Presentation was good and so was the food. My burrito was flavorful and filling. He enjoyed his tacos and thought the rice and beans were ok. Overall it was a great time. Nice ambiance and staff. The only misstep was there is no indication, nor was there a mention, that the plus margarita is $4 more. I didn't even notice until a day later that they charged me $43.99 rather than $39.99 because if I had I would have addressed it.

I popped into Pure Taqueria on a hot Tuesday afternoon, craving some yummy tacos and curious to see what all the buzz was about—especially since the patio is always packed. I ordered the Skinny Love margarita and a fish taco. The margarita? So good. Refreshing, perfectly balanced, and definitely the highlight of my visit. The fish taco, on the other hand, didn’t quite hit the mark for me—nothing terrible, just not memorable. Overall, I’d come back for the vibes and the drinks, but I’m not rushing back for the food. Great spot if you're looking to sip something good and soak in the scene.
